▣ How can I improve my day and my life?
No Tags Currently Defined
Have you attempted to control your thoughts; only thinking positive, happy, prosperous and uplifting thoughts? Have you only thought nice things about yourself and others? Have you been thankful for what is going "right" and counting your blessings? And intentionally, i.e., consciously learning from what appears to be going "wrong?" There is great power in this process, but most people are completely ignorant of this power. Whether you apply this principle or not makes a distinct difference in your life. When a person changes his or her habits of thinking, they will notice the difference within a couple of weeks. Otherwise they simply perpetuate whatever their jar of unconscious thoughts creates.
Even if you learn nothing else from this, it will still be worth your while reading this if you simply understand that thought is creation, and that what you think eventually determines the conditions and experiences of your life.
A thought is a vibration of consciousness, and that vibration sets up a magnetic attraction in the universe which draws to a person the circumstances and situations corresponding to the nature of the thought. The strength of this attraction is dependent on the consistency and energy of the individual’s thoughts. A person's habitual thoughts and predominant mental attitude determine the patterns of his/her life. When you see how a person's mind works, you see how his/her future will be unless an intervention takes place. When the principle is understood, it's so obvious to see what a person is creating.
So What Can I do?
Just being aware of what is in your jar, dealing with it and taking corrective actions works for many people. However, sometimes that is very difficult given the pressures of everyday life and the fact that it is easy to fall back into old habits. So here is a list of activities that you can pick and choose from to get you started. NOTE: You can add to this list…
Getting back to those thoughts…
As was stated at the beginning of this discussion,
thought is creation, and what you think eventually determines
the conditions and experiences of your life.
Keeping in mind that our thoughts create, both the comfortable and the uncomfortable conditions and experiences in our lives, I should think that this would be a wake-up call for all of us to do whatever it takes to become aware of what we are thinking and that this wake-up call would provide us the momentum to change those thoughts that hinder us.
The Law of Non-Resistance
Negative Thoughts…I believe that negative thoughts give us a window into our subconscious (jar). These thoughts tell us about our beliefs; our beliefs about ourselves, our reality (our family, life, work, desires), how we weigh our self-value against other people, and whether we, deep down, believe we deserve good or bad, happy or sad, and how we define our current life. When we endeavor to only think positive thoughts and fight away or ignore the negative ones, we actually cheat ourselves of enlightening information; and we can cause ourselves distress when we are unable to stop the negative thoughts or we may just give up and stop trying. If we ignore the negative thoughts instead of dealing with them, then we create the positive desire on shaky ground.
For example, suppose you want to start thinking that you are beautiful…but, the negative thought creeps in that says, “you are ugly!”? You can ignore the negative thought, but if you do not deal with it, it will always be affecting any positive feelings you get about being beautiful. So, let’s examine the thought, “you are ugly.” Where did it come from, e.g., your family, your friends, magazines, …? Why do you continue to believe it? Bless the thought and thank it for bringing this belief to your attention. Then, create a list of all the things about yourself that make you beautiful, e.g., your eyes, your smile, your ability to see good in other people, your humor, the fact that people feel good when they spend time with you, and so on. Then, create and begin affirming the positive thought (affirmation), “I am beautiful.” If the negative thought recurs (and it probably will because it is a belief you nurtured for a long time), bless it, and remind it that your new paradigm is “I am beautiful;” as you continue to acknowledge and release the negative thought, it will ultimately dissolve. Please NOTE…your physical appearance will change as you evolve through this process and dissolve the old belief that no longer serves you.
The mind is like a child, while you are paying attention to it, it will do your will; but in the moment you are distracted, your mind goes back to the thoughts you hold in your jar so an hour or two, or a day or two, later you will realize that you have been thinking those same old limiting thoughts. In addition to all of this, human beings also are under the guise that they “believe what they think;” when, in fact, if we all sat down and truly examined our thoughts, we would be astounded to see that we do not believe all the stuff that we think; yet, those thoughts are constantly creating the circumstances in our lives.
Are we helpless victims of our thoughts? Of course not.
What we are victim to is the idea/belief that we are helpless. The key to success is to let go of the idea that you have no power. As a matter of fact, the belief that you are “powerless” or “have no power” should be the first thought that should go on your list to dissolve.
Start today…Be aware, be responsible, be open to change, be the change, and then just be!
